How To Create a USI

As part of your enrolment process, you will be asked to provide your USI (Unique Student Identifier). If you do not have one, you will need to create one via the simple steps below. A USI guarantees the linkage of your training records, tracking your training accomplishments and certifications consistently throughout your educational journey and professional career in Australia.

  1. Prepare Identification Documents: Gather required identification documents, such as a driver’s license, Medicare card, Australian passport, or birth certificate. Ensure that the name and details match the ones provided during enrollment.

  2. Access the USI Website: Visit the official USI website (https://www.usi.gov.au/).

  3. Start the USI Creation Process: Click on the “Create a USI” button on the website’s homepage.

  4. Provide Information: Fill in personal details, including name, date of birth, and contact information.

  5. Verify Your Identity: Enter the details from the chosen identification document to verify your identity.

  6. Complete Additional Information: Provide additional information, such as residency status and country of birth.

  7. Create Security Questions: Set up security questions to protect your USI account.

  8. Submit and Receive USI: Submit the application. Once verified, you will receive your USI immediately. Make sure to note it down and keep it secure.
