MSL40118 Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques

The MSL40118 Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a range of laboratory technologies to conduct scientific-technical tests in most industry sectors, utilising specialist technical knowledge.
They conduct a wide range of routine and complex, specialised tests where atypical samples may be involved and the instrumentation used has a wide range of operating variables. Workers communicate sample requirements to other personnel and may liaise with suppliers to troubleshoot product non-conformance. They may also demonstrate methods to others and train team members to collect samples and conduct basic tests reliably.
This qualification consists of fifteen (15) units of competency, of which there are five (5) core units and ten (10) electives.
Approximately 18 – 36 months.
Competency based training has a flexible duration. Learners are provided theory content consisting of reading content, videos and formative assessment activities. Trainers then visit on-site to provide further practical training, issue the summative assessment, conduct practical observations and discuss your progress with your supervisor.

Consists of $375 per unit of competency plus a $300 enrolment fee.
